Welcome to Kindergarten!

It was wonderful to meet so many of you at Open House last week!  We are excited for the first day of kindergarten, this Thursday, September 10th!   Please stay for donuts and coffee provided by SAPSA after you drop off your child.  It is a great time to get to know the other kindergarten families.

Our first few weeks of kindergarten is spent learning the rituals and routines of being at school.  We will work on activities to build community (name games, sharing favorites, drawing our families), practicing routines (lunch, bathrooms, recess), reading stories, and exploring materials that we will use later in the year (pattern blocks, unifix cubes, crayons, glue and scissors).

The beginning of Kindergarten is a big transition for children and families. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns (big or small!) as we start the year.  Just as the children are getting used to new routines, so are the parents and teachers ☺.
