About Us

School
  • Our small school has a big heart. Nestled in a quiet East Side neighborhood, Eastern Heights celebrates the rich cultural diversity of our students throughout the year. At our school, students of all abilities are given the opportunity for positive development: socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Teachers here know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to education. That’s why we have integrated technology by using Google Chromebooks, iPads and Google Docs to personalize learning for each child. Students love the ability to collaborate with each other through technology and learn in their own individual way. Eastern Heights ensures a welcoming environment through our love and respect for all families and students who enter our doors.

Eastern Heights' mission is to Educate for a better tomorrow
Eastern Heights is a Responsive Classroom school, which means that students and teachers work to build a community within the classroom by focusing on both social and academic skills to improve student achievement in all areas. This coordinates well with our PBIS program of positive behavioral support within every aspect of our school day. We have also begun training for several of our staff through The Innocent Classroom Project to increase our academic and social engagement and achievement through relationship building.

Eastern Heights uses a Balanced Literacy approach in which teachers are specially trained to use a variety of specific teaching methods to help all students develop reading and writing skills through workshop models of instruction. Each of our programs including our Special Education and Gifted and Talented are strongly rooted in the state's high academic standards and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each individual student.

    Some of our Features include:

    • Frequent Parent Involvement Meetings with administration
    • EDL (Extended Day Learning) - After-school program for enrichment and for struggling students in reading, writing and math
    • Technology Integration
    • Physical Education
    • Science Inquiry
    • Student Council

Remember that breakfast is free and we want all kids to take advantage of this opportunity.

Research shows that students who eat breakfast generally do well in school.

We want every Eastern Heights student to have the best day possible!
