Hutcheson Named SAP Principal

Dear St. Anthony Park Elementary School Community, 

I am pleased to share with you that I have selected a new leader for St. Anthony Park Elementary School. Please join me in welcoming Philip Hutcheson as your school’s principal beginning in the 2025-26 school year. 

As previously announced, Karen Duke is retiring from Saint Paul Public Schools at the end of this school year. We are grateful for her service to SPPS for more than 25 years, including the last eight as SAP Principal.

Principal Hutcheson has spent the last two school years as an assistant principal at Farnsworth Aerospace Upper Campus. He also served as an administrative intern at Valley Middle School of STEM in Apple Valley, as well as within Minneapolis Public Schools. Principal Hutcheson has 12 years of classroom experience with ISD 196 and Richfield Public Schools.

Principal Hutcheson has his Ed. S. degree and a Master’s in Teaching from Hamline University. He holds his Bachelor’s in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota..
